Advances in AI technology provide opportunities to develop interactive tools for real-time conversational practice and scenario-based training. However, transforming AI chatbots and voice agents into effective language tutors capable of offering pedagogical feedback and tracking progress remains a challenge. We will address this challenge by developing a blueprint for free and open-access AI-driven tools that meet the needs of learners in professional environments.

One of the project's deliverables is SnakKIs, an innovative Norwegian audio chatbot designed for real-time conversational practice, offering scenario-based training tailored to learners’ needs. It focuses on multi-word constructions commonly used in professional settings, such as healthcare, and provides immediate feedback to help learners build fluency and confidence.
