📘 Incoming exchange students: how to apply for micro-courses and Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)

After receiving the nominations, UiT reviews each nomination and confirms that the nominated students meet the programme requirements.

• Eligible students receive a link to an online application form.
• Upload the required document: a copy of your passport or national ID card.
• Submit your application for enrolment.

Once you have been enrolled at UiT, we will register you for the relevant BIP or micro-course.

After enrolment, you will receive your UiT student user account activation information by email. Please keep an eye on your inbox (and spam/junk folder).

🔑 How to activate your account

Once you receive the email "Aktivere UiT brukerkonto – Activate UiT user account":

1. Click "Activate account".
2. Select "Cannot use ID-porten".
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

After activating your account, you will have access to:

• StudentWeb – student information and course registration.
• Canvas – learning platform and course materials.
• Other relevant UiT digital services.

📚 Canvas

Canvas is where you'll find course materials, assignments, lecture presentations, reading lists, and announcements.

• Log in after activating your UiT user account and being registered for your course(s): Canvas | UiT
• To change the language to English, go to: Account → Settings → Language → English.
• Download the Canvas app on your mobile device: Canvas Student (iOS) and Canvas Student (Android).

🌐 Changing the language preference in Canvas

You can change your preferred language to English. This will override the default Norwegian (Norsk bokmål) interface.

1. In the Account Navigation menu ("Konto" in Norwegian), click Settings ("Innstillinger").
2. Click Edit Settings ("Rediger innstillinger") on the right side of the page.
3. Under Language ("Språk"), select English from the drop-down menu.
4. Click Update Settings ("Oppdater innstillinger") to save your changes.

After completing your course or programme at UiT, you may request a final Transcript of Records.
