🎓 How to apply for exchange at UiT – step-by-step guide


  • Autumn Semester (August–December)
    đŸ—“ïž Opens: 15 March | Deadline: 30 April

  • Spring Semester (January–June)
    đŸ—“ïž Opens: 15 September | Deadline: 31 October



  • Home address: Use international format:
    Address Line 1: Street + number
    Address Line 2: Leave empty
    Postal Code + City: e.g. 3999 – Paris
    (P.O. Boxes not accepted)
    Tip: Google Maps
  • Mobile Number: Required.
  • Language: Choose English.

Application Alternative

Select the subject area according to the name of your host department at UiT or your main subject area at your home university.

Deadline

The deadline for your chosen subject area is shown next to it in Søknadsweb.

Comment Box

  • Course-based students: List the courses you wish to take in the comment box.
  • Traineeship students: State the field or type of traineeship you want to complete.

  • Autumn courses published: 15 March

🔗 Course Catalogue for exchange students


  • You’ll receive a confirmation email after each upload.
  • Track application status under “My Applications”.
  • Withdraw/modify via “Change Application” (before deadline).
  • Multiple applications: not allowed for exchange students.

  • The Incoming Exchange Team checks your documents.
  • They contact you if something is missing.
  • Your application is forwarded for academic review.

  • 10 May – autumn
  • 10 November – spring

  • Letter of Acceptance is sent:

    • June – autumn
    • December – spring
  • Accept/decline your offer in Søknadsweb by your deadline.

⚠ Do not book travel until your offer is accepted.


Please follow the steps below to respond to your offer of admission in the Application Web (Søknadsweb).

Step 1: Log in to the Application Web

Always select “UiT The Arctic University of Norway” when logging in.

Step 2: Accept or Decline Your Offer

Once logged in, click on the “My Applications” tab in the top menu. Scroll down to the “Letter of Acceptance” section, where you can accept or decline your offer of admission.

Step 3: Download Your Letter of Acceptance

To access and download your documents, click on the “My Documents” tab in the top menu and scroll down to the list of your documents to download the Letter of Acceptance.

Important: Please read your Letter of Acceptance carefully and make sure you understand the details of your exchange programme, including any conditions or specific requirements, before accepting the offer.
