For employees, international students preliminary at UiT’s master programmes, and partners of employees and students who have a higher education degree (college or university level) UiT offers a place to improve your Norwegian and to qualify for a permanent job and/or permanent residence in Norway.
The Norwegian course in the Inter-Act pilot will help you to develop the Norwegian language skills you need at work, in everyday life, and when communicating with employers.
The teaching is practical, career-oriented, and tailored to your language level and professional goals. Additionally, activities where you may practice Norwegian will be arranged.

Please note: Initially only 20 places are available at this Norwegian course. You are invited to register and take the evaluation test which will indicate your level.

Registration and evaluation:
The registration deadline is October 31, 2026. Participant selection is based on an assessment conducted in November 2026.
Organization of the Norwegian course
- 50 hours of instruction over 10 weeks (5 hours per week – two afternoon sessions of 2.5 hours)
- Classroom teaching at Ressurs in Tromsø
- Access to an online learning platform for independent practice
