Are Giant Viruses the new source to antimicrobial peptides?

Juliana Tatara, CANS-PhD candidate from the Marine Bioprospecting group, will present data from her efforts in identifying antibacterial compounds from giant viruses and very recent findings proving that these viruses have tools to deal with bacteria.

We are confident that this will become a nice story to tell once finished and will open new sources for looking for unconventional antibacterial strategies!
