Populærvitenskapelig sammendrag:

This thesis acknowledges the role of the facilitators of non-formal peace education activities, and looks at how the individuality of such peace educators may shape or inform how such activities turn out. As an article-based thesis comprising of 4 articles, there are three cases presented, which look into forms and potential of non-formal peace education in different contexts. The data from these cases, being of practices mainly in Norway and Tanzania, are analysed in free-standing manner in the articles, before being brought together in the thesis to formulate a theoretical contribution about peace educators’ potential to help contextualise peace education activities. The ensuing concept adds depth to existing models of contextualisation of peace education.
