Sammendrag av avhandlingen / Summary of the thesis:

Concrete production is a major source of CO₂ emissions, and the demand for sustainable alternatives is growing. This study explores the potential of concrete sludge (CS), a waste by-product of concrete manufacturing, as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM). By analyzing its chemical composition, particle size, and mineral content, the research evaluates how CS can replace cement while maintaining performance. Pulverization was found to enhance CS reactivity, with distinct properties observed between precast and ready-mix CS. Incorporating CS into concrete reduces cement use, lowering its carbon footprint and promoting circular economy principles in construction.
