Lots of research data have a high reuse value and should be preserved after the project is finished, but not all of them can be shared openly. Join us for this Open Science Lunch to learn from CLARINO and NIRD RDA about their solutions for archiving data, including data that need restricted access.

In this two-part series of Open Science Lunch we are diving into the topic of secure archiving of research data. Even though many types of data have a high reuse value, not all of them can be openly accessed for reuse by other researchers. Instead, these data require special ethical or privacy considerations and permissions for access. Only a few data archives in Norway offer solutions for secure, long-term preservation of research data that also include different ways of controlling access to archived data.

Do you need to securely preserve research data after your project is finished? Are you looking for data archiving solutions that allow for restricted access to the data? Or maybe you are looking for a dataset and need to apply for access yourself?

Grab your ‘matpakke’ and join us for the second part of Open Science Lunch on secure data archiving! We will learn from Dhanya Pushpadas about solutions in NIRD RDA, and from Juliane Marie Therese Tiemann and Paul Meurer about CLARINO solutions!

Make sure to also attend Part 1 of the secure data archiving series on September 25th! More information here.

How to join

The event is open to everybody and you can join online on Zoom (Zoom link here).

About Open Science Lunch

Each last Thursday of the month at 12.00 we invite you to join us an open lunch to hear about how to make your research more open. We will discuss research transparency and visibility, open publishing, data sharing, and more! After each short presentation we will have a Q&A session, where you can ask questions or try yourself some of the tools and solutions we will present!
