The annual Munin Conference on scholarly publishing focuses on open access, open data, and open science.

This year’s conference at UiT campus Tromsø takes place on November 1820. Registration for on-site participants is open until 29 October, see the registration page for information on conference fees.

Employees and students of UiT The Arctic University of Norway are welcome to attend any of the plenary sessions in Aud 1 and Aud 2 (Teorifagbygget House 1) without registration. Please note that coffee and lunch are only for registered participants.

If you want to help out as a volunteer, fill out this registration form on 2 November at the latest. Volunteers will get tasks during the conference, such as carrying the microphone during Q&A sessions, manning the registration desk, support in the conference auditoria. Volunteers will get coffee and lunch the days they are available to help, and will also be invited to the conference reception that will take place at Nord-Norsk Kunstmuseum on November 18th, 18:30–21:00. 

This year’s Munin Conference has especially encouraged submissions on the following topics: 

  • Open science in a closing world 
  • Indigenous rights in research 
  • Transparency and replicability in science 
  • Repairing the gaps in research infrastructure 
  • Agency 

 

This year’s keynotes are: 

  • Dr Tracey Weissgerber, team leader for the EXCELScIOR ERA Chair meta-research team, and an Invited Research Coordinator, at the University of Coimbra will speak about open methods and how the University of Coimbra incentivizes open and reproducible practices among graduate students. 
  • Dr Kenneth Ruud, Director General at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) will talk about the future of Open Science in a world with an increasing conflict level.
