New COMICA characters and stories

The workshop invited participants to explore diversity in academia through comics and humour, and some new characters are now taking shape! Each character represents different experiences, perspectives and dimensions of diversity in academic life, helping us make visible some of the people, identities and stories that are often less visible in academia.

Academia is emerging as a multifaceted world, inhabited by diverse people, values, feelings and ideas. It is a place for friendship (and even love!), for dialogue and debate, conflict and compromise, ambition and uncertainty, fears and laughter… and so much more. Through comics and humour, COMICA explores and makes visible some of the many experiences, perspectives and forms of diversity that shape academic life.
