Research Visit to BRIDGE partners in India
In the first month of this new year, the BEaM- Energy and Environmental Research Group, UiT Narvik led by Prof. Rajnish Kaur Calay carried out a series of academic visits across India as part of its ongoing international engagement activities under the BRIDGE project.
The primary objective was to strengthen institutional linkages, identify concrete opportunities for future collaboration, and explore researcher mobility pathways with UiT- The Arctic University of Norway.
These visits focused on building long term academic relationships at the group and institutional level, with emphasis on collaboration frameworks, joint initiatives, and connectivity rather than short-term outputs.
During this visit, Somil Thakur, Ph.D. from BEaM- Energy and Environmental Research Group, UiT Narvik engaged with the following institutions:
1. BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, with Prof. Sanket Goel and his research group (Link - https://lnkd.in/gip6RWPt)
2. Jadavpur University, Kolkata, with Prof. Ranjana Chowdhury and Prof. SUDIPTA DE along with their research group including Kaustav Nath.
3. Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, with Prof. Ramkrishna Sen along with their research group including Sundipan B., VARISHA FARHEEN, Santoshnambi Yadav, Suman Dhar, Sayak Mitra. Also had short interactions with Dr. Gourav Dhar Bhowmick and Manmadha Manikanta Doki.
4. South Asian University, with Prof. Pankaj Jain and colleagues.
5. Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, with Dr. Sovik Das and his group including Dr. Anil Dhanda and Yasser Bashir.
From BEaM- Energy and Environmental Research Group, UiT Narvik’s perspective, this outreach was a foundational step toward developing structured collaborations, including joint research activities, and mobility between these institutions and UiT- The Arctic University of Norway. The discussions and connections established during this visit will guide the collaboration planning among the institutes.
