Matteo Chiesa


Job description

Som materialforsker jobber jeg med å lage og implementere teknologier som er nødvendige for å tilpasse det nåværende energisystemet til et mer bærekraftig, konkurransedyktig og sikkert. Han designer, undersøker og konstruerer nanomaterialer for solenergikonvertering og lagringssystemer. For tiden fokuserer Matteo sin forskningen på å takle spesifikke utfordringer knyttet til utplassering av fornybar energi under arktiske forhold gjennom en syntetisk og symbiotisk tilnærming. Han dyrker tverrfaglighet og kombinerer teknologier for å skape optimale løsninger, samtidig som jeg sikrer deres harmoniske integrasjon i samfunnsmessig sammenheng for å oppnå bærekraftig livsstil og trivsel for mennesker. Denne tilnærmingen har preget hans forskning ved Masdar Institute (nå KU) der habn siden 2007 systematisk har taklet flere av de største utfordringene knyttet til implementering av solenergi i ørkenmiljø. Resultatet av forskningen hans har vært sentralt i realiseringen av fotovoltaikkprosjekter som lovet strøm til rekordlave priser med PPA-bud (kraftkjøpsavtale) når så lave som 1,79c / kWh.
