Research interests
Mitt kompetanseområde er i særlig grad relatert til planlegging og
planleggingsteori, byutvikling, offentlig politikk og forvaltning, lokale
demokratiformer samt stedsforskning. Forskningsinteressene har lenge
vært knyttet til studier av lokalutvalg og andre former for nærdemokrati.
Nye forskningsinteresser er nye lokale styringsformer relatert til
governance. Jeg er også opptatt av byutvikling og stedsutvikling, både som et teoretisk
prosjekt, og som et mer empirisk studiefelt. Hvordan skal vi forstå de
urbane trekk ved vår kultur og hvilke konsekvenser har dette for
nordområdene? Hvordan omdannes og redefineres steder i et stadig mer globalt og i økende grad mobilt samfunn?
