Alexander Horsch


Job description

Alexander Horsch, født 1955 i Augsburg, Tyskland, er professor i informatikk. Hans viktigste vitenskapelige bidrag er å lage systemer for medisinsk bildeanalyse og for biosignalanalyse, også i kombinasjon med telemedisinske tjenester. Tidlig arbeid fokuserte på datastøttet diagnose av kreft, hvor jeg var en av driverne i utviklingen av et system for tidlig oppdagelse av melanom som var patentert og integrert i et kommersielt produkt. I det siste har han jobbet med akselerometerdataanalyse for forskning på fysisk aktivitet innenfor rammen av store populasjonsstudier. Nåværende vekt er på metoder fra kunstig intelligens, inkludert maskinlæring og dyp læring, med fokus på anvendelsen i medisin, biologi og folkehelse.
