❄️ Exchange at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS)

Although UNIS is not an accredited institution, exchange students from universities that have a formal agreement with UiT The Arctic University of Norway may apply to take courses or conduct research at UNIS.
📍 How to Apply for Exchange at UNIS (The University Centre in Svalbard)
Applying for a semester exchange at UNIS involves three main steps:
1️⃣ Apply directly to UNIS
Visit the UNIS website to submit your application:

2️⃣ Get nominated by your Home Institution to UiT
Your home university must nominate you to UiT through our online nomination system:

📩 Nomination Letter to submit to UNIS
After your nomination to UiT, you’ll receive an email from UiT titled “Nomination for student exchange”.
🖨️ Print this email and upload it to the UNIS application portal as a proof of your nomination to UiT.
Alternatively, you can ask your home university to issue a nomination letter for you to upload.
3️⃣ Submit documents to UiT
Once nominated to UiT, you will receive an email with instructions to log in to UiT's Application Web (Søknadsweb). You’ll need to upload:
- 🛂 A copy of your passport
- 📄 Your transcript of records

✅ What Happens Next?
- Follow up with your application at UNIS until you receive an official admission offer.
- Once accepted, notify UiT by email: mobility@uit.no
- You will be registered as a UiT student, and UiT will issue your transcript of records for all exams completed at UNIS.

📌 Once accepted by UNIS, you will:
- Be registered as an exchange student at UiT
- Be exempt from paying semester fees
- Have your Digital Learning Agreement signed (Erasmus+ students only)
