Job description

Som faglig ansatt i MPCT-programmet har Woldeselassie hovedansvar for undervisning i følgende emner og moduler: Tverrfaglige, kunnskapsproduksjon, kritiske, kjønns- og dekoloniale perspektiver på fred, sikkerhet, vold og krig. Sosiokulturelle og antropologiske tilnærminger og perspektiver på vold, krig, sikkerhet, fredsbygging og forsoning. Etnisitet, identitetspolitikk, nasjonalisme, ekstremisme og vold. Religion, vold og fredsbygging. Utover undervisningen har han ansvar for: veiledning av masterstudenter i deres masteroppgaver. Sensorrolle ved eksamener og vurdering av masteravhandlinger. Fagansvar for utvalgte emner og moduler. Planlegging og gjennomføring av workshops og seminarer knyttet til studentprosjekter/masteroppgaver.

    Research interests

    Faglige kompetanseområder

    Zerihuns MPhil- og PhD-forskning og feltarbeid fokuserer på spørsmål om den reproduksjonen og transformasjonen av sosiopolitisk struktur, mangfold og kompleksitet når det gjelder identitet, tilhørighet og politikk. Han har utført langsiktig etnografisk forskning og feltarbeid blant minoriteter og/eller muslimske grupper.

    I Norge har han siden 2016 undervist i freds- og konfliktstudier i ulike fag innen etnisk- og nasjonalismestudier, religionsvitenskap, metoder og metodikk.
