Abd Alelah Derbas, Senior Member IEEE (SMIEEE), obtained his B.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from Al-Baath University, Homs, Syria, in 2009, and his M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran, in 2018.

He recently joined the Department of Computer Science at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway as a Research Fellow, where he focuses on AI approaches and applications for optimal control of resilient microgrids. He previously served as a Guest Researcher with the Department of Energy, Aalborg University (AAU Energy), Aalborg, Denmark, during the period of 2022-2024.

Mr. Derbas holds a patent (IR.100145) in DC microgrid stability and power management, granted in Iran in 2020. His research interests encompass AI in Microgrids, Digital Twin for Smart Grids, Green Cities, Microgrid Stability, Power Management, Power System Dynamics, Power Electronics, and Energy Storage Systems.

Throughout his academic journey, he has been the recipient of numerous awards and prestigious scholarships. His research contributions include multiple published papers in IEEE Transactions and IEEE conferences.
