Mojdeh Rafieian

Job description

I began my doctoral studies at Environmental temperature and health in August 2023. I have a background in nursing and global health.

My doctoral research focuses on the project entitled "Cardiovascular responses to short-term cold and heat exposure in subjects with type 2 diabetes and hypertension." The aim is to investigate how type 2 diabetes and hypertension affect cardiovascular reactions when the body is exposed to both cold and heat. The second aim is to examine the association between ambient temperature and hospitalizations for cardiovascular events (heart attack or stroke) among people with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. I use data from the "DiabColdHeat Study," a laboratory study, as well as data from the "CONOR Study," a population study.
