Quality indicators in community pharmacies
Health care service quality is difficult to measure, and it is challenging to develop reliable and validated quality measuring tools. Nevertheless, health politicians and researchers favor to governor the development of health care services according to quality standards. This has led to the development of quality indicators (QIs), which are well-defined, measurable factors that provide an indirect indication of health care service quality.
This project aims to develop and validate national quality indicators (QIs) that assess overall service quality in community pharmacies. These QIs will support key stakeholders and healthcare personnel in advancing pharmacy service quality and potentially enable patients and customers to make informed decisions about service utilization.
The project encompasses three primary objectives:
Objective 1: Exploring stakeholders' perspectives on the quality of services provided through community pharmacies
Objective 2: Development of quality indicators for a community pharmacy setting
Objective 3: Quality indicators for community pharmacies - a modified Delphi study [work in progress]
